Play Therapy Trainers Training Courses

The PTI accredited play therapy training programme has become extremely successful over the last three years in terms of measured clinical and academic outcomes. It is probably the largest play therapy training programme in the world with over 600 students currently enrolled. As a result there is a growing demand for the programme to be delivered in more countries and more venues. PTI and APAC need more Course Directors to deliver these programmes. To be accepted for training as Course Directors it is necessary:

  • To have completed the PTI accredited Certificate, Diploma and Supervision courses
  • Have completed at least 300 hours of clinically supervised practice

  • There is no charge for the Play Therapy Trainers course but participants are required to commit to investing up to 30 days attendance/work with travel).

The course involves tutorials and the shadowing of Course Directors on both Certificate and Diploma courses, providing an increasing amount of support which is closely monitored. A detailed Course Directors’ manual is provided. The work concludes with participants running modules of the accredited courses under supervision..

There are further opportunities provided to obtain a Post Graduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching (Higher Education), to fulfil the Academy of Higher Education requirements and to progress to an MA Education.
